This is an original extendable metal wall lamp or scissor sconce designed by famous Bauhaus school metal workshop foreman Christian Dell in 1933 for Kaiser Idell. This large version has an off-white enameled paint, metal, and chromed screws. The lamp is branded with the original hanging tag on the lampshade. The paper sticker on the metal wall plate is likely an inventory reference from the Swiss administration that supplied the lamp. Please check all close-ups.
Its wall-mounted design and expandable/retractable arm make it ideal for a reading nook or by the bedside.
This simple industrial design shows the idea of "form perfectly follows function." This elegantly constructed lamp, designed by Christian Dell, offers excellent flexibility, allowing the lampshade to direct light in multiple directions.
