This original tall-scaled terracotta sculpture or figurine is superbly stylized and executed. It features a standing strong nude man without arms, a very unusual cubist composition, mounted on a terracotta base.
The Art Deco period helped popularize the depiction of heroic Greek-style nude figures demonstrating their strength and fitness. This 1950s futurist figure is clearly a great tribute to that period. The piece is nicely finished with a light yellow patina that increases the antique appearance of the sculpture. There is no visible maker's mark.
