A fantastic French Art Deco chrome and wood airplane or seaplane model mounted on a stylized wood plinth. A superbly crafted rendering of the legendary quadri-propeller seaplane, strikingly evocative of a golden age in air travel. This handsome 1940s desk or counter model airplane is made of varnished wood and chromed-metal wings and tail, with exterior chrome detailing and four propellers on the wings. The seaplane rests on a solid wooden block with a metal arm. It has a brass plaque with the tag "The Phiphi". There is no other visible maker's mark. This is a great desk accessory for aviation collectors and lovers.
