Presented here is a beautiful large seashell swan sculpture or decorative bowl. The design is reminiscent of Italian artist Gabriella Binazzi's work. The swan neck and base are gilded brass metal in original shiny condition. The swan's face has black glass eyes.
Gabriella Binazzi creates original sculptures using natural materials like seashells or ostrich eggs, mounted with metal to form incredible birds or animals with a unique style.
The seashell used here is a giant Nautilus Pompilius.
Its common name is the chambered nautilus, but it is also called the pearly nautilus. That's the best-known species of nautilus. The shell, when cut away, reveals a lining of lustrous nacre and displays a nearly perfect equiangular spiral.
The range of the chambered nautilus encompasses much of the South Pacific. It is found near reefs and on the seabeds of Australia, Japan, and Micronesia coasts. There is no visible maker's mark on this sculpture.
