This lovely Talosel or Resin pin brooch was executed by one of the students of Line Vautrin. It features a brown Talosel geometric dangling shape with a gilded metal snake chain encrusted with green cabochon on silver foil background. There is a security closing clasp at the back. No maker's mark is visible.

 

Note: After the great success of her jewelry and home design creations, Line Vautrin decided in the late 1960s to focus on education. She inaugurated a new cycle of her life employed to the educational experience, introducing students to the handling and processing of resin, bronze, and mirrors. This lovely brooch is the work of one of her students under her supervision.
TALOSEL is a material created by Line Vautrin, made of synthetic resin elaborate at the end of WWII. This 1950's patented term is an acronym for aceTAte de celluLOSe ELabore (Elaborate Cellulose Acetate).
