This exceptional French Art Deco silver plate cylindrical cocktail or Martini shaker was designed by silversmith Christofle as part of their Gallia range in the "Ondulation" design created by Luc Lanel. The piece was meticulously crafted in France circa 1930. The "Ondulation" design was created for the luxury liner SS Normandie by the designer Luc Lanel. This grand ocean liner's first-class passenger spaces were decorated in the trendiest Art Deco style and filled with luxuries; the bars were filled with the nicest Art Deco cocktail shakers. This three-sectioned cocktail shaker has a removable cap and filter-strainer. The piece boasts a beautiful Art Deco design with decorative engraving bands around the base. The shaker is marked on the underside with legal silversmith hallmarks Gallia, the Chess O/C (Orfevrerie Christofle) mark, and the Rooster mark. The shaker is also stamped "Prod. Christofle" and "France".
A perfect gift for the discerning connoisseur, this bar piece comes complete with its original branded gift box.
