A spectacular lidded box designed by Maitland-Smith in the 1980s, rendered in tessellated marble, stone, travertine, and brass. Pyramidal square shape with assorted colors of sand beige, black, and off-white with a very interesting geometric checkerboard marquetry pattern. Inside is in beige suede, and the lid has a little brass finial. No visible maker's mark.
