A rare and visually arresting pair of sculptural table lamps attributed to Belgian designer Willy Daro, crafted in France circa 1970. These exceptional pieces exemplify the designer's signature fusion of natural elements with bold modernist forms, offering a dramatic interplay between organic texture and architectural geometry.
Each lamp features a monumental seashell—selected for its scale and sculptural presence—mounted on a large square base of polished brass. The brass gleams with a warm, golden patina that enhances the natural iridescence of the shell, creating a dynamic tension between raw nature and refined design. The pyramid-shaped lampshades, rendered in a rich cocoa brown faux-crocodile texture, add a contemporary edge and amplify the visual drama.
Though not signed, the materials, proportions, and aesthetic language unmistakably reflect Daro's celebrated body of work. His lamps are prized for their ability to transform geological and marine specimens into luxurious, gallery-worthy lighting—each one a unique statement of taste and connoisseurship.
This pair is more than functional lighting—it is a collectible sculpture. Ideal for a curated interior, high-end hospitality space, or private design collection, these lamps offer investment-grade appeal for those who value rarity, scale, and the enduring allure of 1970s European design.
