A stylish 1930s French Art Deco black glass vase by VerMer (Trademark of the French SPIP Glassmaker). A frosted geometric rounded design contrasted with the shiny surface of the vase. The piece is marked "VerMer" on the side.
 

About the Manufacturer: Group SPIP
The company sold art glass, crystal, and art objects made of different materials on its business premises. In 1935, it registered the trademarks Verlux, SPIP, and VerMer. Art glass with the Verlux brand produced in the Verreries des Andelys, Holophane SA. With the designation SPIP, it manufactured pressed glass artwork, and with the addition of "Tchecoslovaquie," some pieces were manufactured for the company in Czechoslovakia and exported to France. The precise specialty for VerMer productions is still unknown to this day.
